There are so many great people in this world.
Today was PurpleStride where funds are raised to help end pancreatic cancer. Talk about a bunch of great people in one place!
My gym, Kosama, had a PurpleStride team and we all donated and got 3rd place and we had the biggest team. Pretty good!
We had a 5K run/walk and I saw so many with a sheet on their shirt honoring the person(s) in their life who were taken by this cancer. So sad, but I loved that they had a way to express their fight with this horrible disease.
Everyone who participated was all smiles. They were so happy to be there supporting the fight. I was so moved I left my comfy comfort zone and bought a tutu at one of the tents . I wanted to wear purple, too!
It’s a small thing, of course, to buy a tutu. But, if everyone there had purchased one they would have raised thousands right at the event.
Sometimes we think that what we do doesn’t count. Whatever we do is not big enough. You know, lots of little things equal a huge thing.
I’m going to keep donating to this cause and while I can never give enough, each dollar counts.
My cousin, who is my age, in Texas just won the fight with colon cancer. Talk about a great day when we heard that news! I’m going to go down later this month and hang with her. We are going to enjoy every minute.
What is a small thing you can do today to support a cause? Perhaps it’s a cause in your family, or town, or a friend, etc. Small things count!
