Until 1998 I did not set goals. I didn’t think that this goal setting thing worked.
Until I read The Aladdin Factor by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen. Changed my life.
I realized that a big reason I did not set goals was because I feared setting them and then not achieving them.
In the book is a quote by Thea Alexander – The best thing to do with fear, is to let it go. I realized that two things can’t occupy the same space at the same time, and, if I take the space that fear previously occupied and fill it with positive intention and specific goal-oriented action, the fear can no longer occupy that space.
The authors request that you write 100 goals. Back in 1998 I wrote 86 in the back of the book. As I look over them today I’m amazed at how many have come true.
I’m not going to ask you to write 100! For your self-care sanity today I want you to dream big and write 25 goals. Do not worry about how to achieve them – just write them down. The how can come later.
What are you waiting for?
