Have you heard of the Pomodoro method (pomodoro is ‘tomato’ in Italian).
If not, and you have trouble focusing. then this method is for you.
The method is setting a timer for 25 minutes and work on one thing. Like I’m doing right now writing this newsletter. The 25-minute work session is called a pomodoro.
The timer will go off after 25 minutes and then you set a 5-minute timer for a break. Then you start a 25-minute timer again (your 2nd pomodoro) and get more stuff done.
You can set a goal of ‘x’ number of pomodoros a day and watch your productivity soar. For every 4th pomodoro set a break for 15-30 minutes. You deserve it!
Simple, right?!! But, it works. Especially for things you don’t want to do. The timer gives a sense of urgency.
Of course, you can use your phone’s timer but I got a digital one from Amazon. I love the red color as it stares at me on my desk. I can’t miss it!
To me, being productive and on top of things gives me the time to give to others. If I’m so focused on me I can’t give to others. Need help in the productivity department – I’m one call or Zoom away!
