When I walked into my Fitness 19 gym recently I noticed this whiteboard promoting a Ropes Class. I’m not a ‘class’ person but walked over to see what it was all about.
I started laughing out loud when I read who could and could not attend this class.
Who can come: Anyone that is ready to work!
Who cannot come: Whiners
Love this! Can you imagine teaching a ropes course with whiners? That would have to be the longest hour in the world.
An important principle I coach my clients on is having a profile of your right-fit client. If you don’t have this profile you are marketing to anyone and everyone and that is not only exhausting but expensive.
When you have the profile of your right-fit client you can target your marketing messages just for them. You can now spend your time, energy, money, and creative on the people you really want to help.
There are two sides to the right-fit coin: The demographic side (or tangible) and the environmental side (or intangible).
Target decision maker
It’s important as you put together your profile to fill out each of these parameters. The more we can identify these the more we can understand when in conversation with a prospect if it makes sense to work with them.
When you know your profile you will start seeing them everywhere! You’ll be amazed at the great ideas that start popping in your head of how to reach them, get them to know you, and then hire you.
But, when all is said and done be sure you include the parameters that Fitness 19 used for their Ropes Course. Only work with people who want to do the work AND no whiners!
The biggest difference between entrepreneurs who make it and those who don’t is their confidence. Build your confidence by taking a stand about who you will and won’t work with in your business. Life gets so much easier!
Now is your time. 2012 IS YOUR YEAR.
