Look around you and what do you see? People’s faces buried in their phones. They seem oblivious to what is going on around them. I want to tell them if they would look up they would see signs of beauty everywhere.
It’s time for all of us to stop and see the signs that are all around us.
I was on a bike ride with my daughter-in-law the other day and she stopped when she saw a cardinal. She told me that a cardinal is a representative of a loved one who had passed and she thought of her dad.
My dad and I used to have a contest who would see the 1st robin in the spring. It was a joke, really, because I didn’t pay any attention to birds and he always saw his 1st robin months before I did! Now, when I see a robin, I think of my dad.
On Monday I went to the hospital to visit my precious aunt who was being taken care of by hospice staff. As I got out of my car I looked up and saw a cross in the sky. I knew that everything was going to be ok and Heaven was waiting for her.
We each give our own meaning to the signs we see. But, if we don’t get our face off the screen we are going to miss them. Look around. What do you see?
