Self-Care Sanity: Idea #22 – The Gift of a Staycation

22-staycationDo you remember the spring of 2008? The economy was not doing well and gas prices were at record highs. The term ‘staycation’ came into being as more and more people were cutting back on expenses and staying close to home for their vacation.

That was then. This is now. No matter what your situation is now a staycation is still a fabulous idea. I don’t think there are many things more fun than taking a day off and spending it close to home.

That means no email, no doing business, etc!

Our favorite staycation place is the Iowa Great Lakes only an hour and a half from our home. We pack up our sun gear and snacks and spend the day at the beach. It’s like we traveled across the country. But, we didn’t!

Plan a staycation soon. It’s your get away without having to get too far away!

What are you waiting for?
