Welcome to the ninth issue of my monthly tip newsletter just for professional organizers.  Each month you'll be receiving a short, easy-to-implement, and very valuable tip to help you grow your professional organizing business. 
 
I'll also give you an assignment and where to find the tools you need for the task.

You can get everyone you meet to sign up for your newsletter!
 
Yes, you really can even if you don't have a newsletter!

I'm sure you know this already but it's all in the follow-up.  Read this again - it is all in the follow up.  You're going to meet people everywhere who down the road could use your services but not right now.  What are you doing to keep your name in front of them on a regular basis? And something that won't cost much.

That's where a monthly newsletter comes in.  I gave you ideas on how to do this in Issue #1, May 2008 of this newsletter so I won't go into that again.  If you didn't see that issue just e-mail me and I'll forward it to you. 

I want to talk to you about what you're going to offer them so they can't wait to sign up for your newsletter. 

In other words your free report, free audio, etc.  What do your choice clients want to know more about? What would make them jump and say "I want that!"?  If you've worked with clients awhile you know what that is but if you don't - ask them.  Ask them what is the #1 concern they have and answer  those questions in your free report.  Or you can record you answers and have a free audio to give away.

The beautiful thing about having this giveaway is that when you meet someone and you can tell they aren't ready to commit ask them if they'd like your free report and a complimentary subscription to your newsletter.  Of course they will!  Then you get them on your list, they'll hear from you once a month, and you will be the person they will call when they need your expertise.

There are a lot of ideas on what to have and the person who is a marketing expert in this is Jody Gabourie, the Small Business Marketing Coach. I'm going to be interviewing her on Wednesday, February 18 at 1 PM ET. She's going to give us all kinds of ideas for a great free report.   If you are a member in my VIP Circle you'll get extra time with her after the interview in a special Q&A time and she can give you personal attention.

Having a free report to offer works really well when you speak, also.  About half-way through your presentation hold up your free report and tell a little about it, ask who would like it (they will all raise their hands), and tell them to put their name/e-mail on a 3x5 card that you have on their chair and tell them they will also get a complimentary subscription to your awesome newsletter. Usually 95% of the audience will sign up. This is a fantastic way to build your list quickly and with people who know that you are the expert and they like you!

Elizabeth's Assignment:
  1. Make a decision that you are going to attend the teleclass with Jody Gabourie.
  2. Take action after the teleclass and put together your free offer.
  3. Stay focused by offering your free report everywhere you go.
  4. If you don't have a newsletter start one as soon as possible.
