"Where Do You Want to Go?"
Greetings!

I blinked and summer is gone!  But, I'm thankful for September and the beautiful entry into fall.
In August we celebrated two birthdays as Emily turned 27 and Sean turned 24.  I wasn't able to see Emily as she lives in Denver but I did grab Sean for a picture on his birthday.

In August I finished my Stimulus Package Teleclass Series.  This program was a series of 9 teleclasses where I taught office organization, goal setting, how to give teleclasses, how to start speaking to attract your choice clients, and a lot more!  I had a blast giving these classes! I had the best attendees and learned a lot from them, also. I am now in the process of editing and transcribing to possibly offer this as a home study course.  We'll see!

Anothe
r teleclass that I gave was "How to Organize Your Closet so you will get Dressed..not Stressed!"  It was a great class but what made it extra special was that my friend, Jill Swanson, a nationally known image consultant, was my guest for half of the class.  I learned so much from her!  If you weren't able to make the class but would like the recording and really, I mean really, get your closet organized for fall and with Jill's help have outfits that are perfect for you - click here to purchase the downloadable recording for only $19.

Enjoy these last wonderful days of summer and read the feature article to make sure that you are on the right road!
Feature Article:
Where Do You Want to Go?

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. His response was a question: 'Where do you want to go?' 'I don't know,' Alice answered. 'Then,' said the cat, 'it doesn't matter."
Lewis Carroll, 1864-1928

  • Do you ever feel like you are spinning your wheels?
  • Do you ever feel like you constantly put out fires every day but the important tasks just don't get done?
  • Do you ever feel overwhelmed and so you do nothing?
If you answered yes than you may not know where you want to go.

A few years ago I was listening to a teleclass where Stephanie Frank, author of The Accidental Millionaire, was being interviewed. At the end of the teleclass the interviewer asked Stephanie if she had any closing thoughts for the audience. Stephanie said "I have 4 words.  What do you want?  Because if you don't know what you want you're not going to end up where you want to be."  This really stuck me.  At the time I was working with a business coach but not getting the results that I wanted.  I was tempted to blame the coach but it was not his fault.  You see, I didn't know what I wanted.  Did I want to do more organizing consulting, did I want to do more speaking, or did I want to start coaching?  Because I didn't know what I wanted I was not getting anywhere.

It's the same with not knowing where you want to go because then any road will work.

Stop right now and take a breath. A deep breath. Then answer these questions:
  1. In one year where do I want to be in my relationships with my friends and family?
  2. In one year where do I want to be in my career?
  3. In one year where do I want to be financially?
  4. In one year where do I want to be spiritually?
  5. In one year where do I want to be physically?
Once you have these answers you will now know what road to take every day!  This is a fabulous feeling.  Every day ask yourself "What are 3 things I can do toward these goals?" (I got this question from Mark LeBlanc.) It can be 3 things toward 3 different goals or they can be tasks all toward one goal.  The key is to do 3 things every day to reach your goals.

After answering the questions and doing your '3 things every day' what are your days like now?  Are you feeling now like you're on the right road?!
