, I used to think I had to do it all AND do it perfectly. How utterly exhausting. Do you ever feel this way? 

 

As I've gotten older and much wiser I've realized that we all have gifts. All of us.  We may wish that we had gifts that others have but we don't - we have our gifts.  Why run our self ragged trying to do things that are not our gifts when there are those who are just dying to help us? And, it's fun for them because their work is their gift and one of the reasons they were put on this earth.

 

Quick, right now - name one thing you're doing that you don't like doing, you don't do it all that well, it's exhausting, and it actually makes you quite irritable.  Write it down.    

Now, what could you be doing that you're really good at and love doing instead.  Write that down.

 

Next, ask yourself if there is someone in your life who is really good at the thing you don't like. Call her/him right now!  You will feel so good after you do this and it will free you up for doing things that you are meant to be doing and give such great joy to others. 

  

, embrace your gifts!   

    

This year my theme is "It's Who You Are".  I got this from the song sung by AJ Michalka in the movie "Secretariat".   

   

Here is a verse from the song:

It's not how fast, it's not how far, it's not of cheers, it's who you are.

In darkest night you make your sun, you choose your race, and then you run.

It's never the glory, it's never the score, it's not about seeing about who's less and who's more cuz when you find out how fast and how far, you'll know it's not how much you have. It's who you are.

 

It's time for you to choose your race and run it - and you can run with so much more grace when you act on your strengths. 

 

June Confidence Action Step:

Do the exercise that I outlined above.  Don't just say "Well, I'll call someone tomorrow to help me."  Call them today. If you don't know someone who does well what you don't like doing, ask a friend if they know of someone. 

 

June Organization Tip: 

Stressed out by the clutter in your home or office?  Do you know someone who is organized?  Call her! She would love to help.  Believe it or not those of us who love to organize get giddy when we see a lot of paper piles or clutter.  We can't wait to give you the peace you deserve in your life.
