"Dare to have Big Goals"
What do you really, really want more of? First thought - best thought.
How different our lives are when we really know what is deeply important
to us, and keeping that picture in mind, we manage ourselves each
day to be and to do what really matters most. Stephen Covey
Look at how you spend your time? Is how you spend your time now getting you what you want? I would assume if you want more of something than most likely what you're doing now is not working in that area.
- Closer relationships
- Family time
- Better health
- Time to relax
- Something else?
It is so important to get the thoughts of what you want out of your head and on to paper. When your dreams/goals are on paper than you can look at them realistically. As you look at them ask yourself "Is this really what I want or did it just sound good or is it what someone else has so I think I want it?"
Now ask yourself "Am I thinking big enough"? The only person stopping you from dreaming big is yourself!
My coach and friend, Mark LeBlanc, taught me to look at setting goals in a different way. This way works far better than setting just yearly goals.
As you look at what you wrote down of what you want more of ask yourself these questions:
This system works!
- What are 3 things I'll accomplish this week?
- What are 3 things I'll accomplish in the next 30 days?
- What are 3 things I'll accomplish in the next 90 days?
- What are 3 things I'll accomplish in the next 12 months?
June Confidence Action Step:
Take some time for yourself and ask yourself "What do I want more of?" Then sit quietly. You'll hear the answer. Write it down here. Then ask yourself the four "What are 3 things...." questions around what you want more of. Write those items down and get them in your calendar. Your life will never be the same.
June Organization Tip:
How about a goal of only having 10 e-mails or less in your in box at the end of every day? Sound impossible? Think again! The key is to take care of each e-mail when you open it. Don't go through your e-mails and open them all up without making decisions. Barbara Hemphill said "Clutter is postponed decisions" and she is right! Make a decision on each e-mail the first time you open it. Take time at the end of the day to clear out your in box and you'll come to work the next day ahead, not behind!
, this really is your time. Dare to have big goals and take action. I believe in you.I want to hear what happens when you take action on your goals. Let me know at my blog
Some of my family and I spent the weekend in Minneapolis recently but not together! My husband, sons, and daughter-in-law had a fun weekend seeing the Twins play two games. It was their first time seeing the Twins in their beautiful new stadium and they had a blast. Many thanks to Ashley for taking this picture of the most important men in my life!
