We recently saw the movie "127 Hours". This movie is based on the true-life experience of Aron Ralston, a mountain climber who falls through a crevice and a boulder falls on him trapping his arm. He can't get out. He tries everything over a course of 127 hours and nothing works. He finally resorts to amputating his arm and he escapes.
During his time trapped in the crevice he videotapes his thoughts and messages to his parents. At one point he says, "You know, I've been thinking. Everything is... just comes together. It's me. I chose this. I chose all this. This rock... this rock has been waiting for me my entire life. It's entire life, ever since it was a bit of meteorite a million, billion years ago. In space. It's been waiting, to come here. Right, right here. I've been moving towards it my entire life. The minute I was born, every breath that I've taken, every action has been leading me to this crack on the out surface."
, perhaps you have been waiting for such a time as this. Whatever you are facing is 'your rock' and this is your time. This is your time to not give up but to choose success. Perhaps success will not look like you thought it would. I'm sure Aron Ralston never thought that his life included living with one arm.
Life doesn't always give us what we wanted or planned but what can you do to have a success right now? Not tomorrow, right now.
This year my theme is "It's Who You Are". I got this from the song sung by AJ Michalka in the movie "Secretariat".
Here is a verse from the song:
It's not how fast, it's not how far, it's not of cheers, it's who you are.
In darkest night you make your sun, you choose your race, and then you run.
It's never the glory, it's never the score, it's not about seeing about who's less and who's more cuz when you find out how fast and how far, you'll know it's not how much you have. It's who you are.
Your life is about embracing your 'rock' and doing what needs to be done. It's about being who you are no matter what happens.
What can you do right now?
April Confidence Action Step:
Stop thinking about what might have been or what you wished would have happened. Take a deep breath, smile, and do something now.
April Organization Tip:
Spring is the perfect time to clean out and organize your closet. As you go through your clothes don't keep clothes that are for another time and place in your life - dress for now.
,what will you do right now? Let me know at my blog.
