I had a wonderful call with a SuccessPlus coaching client of mine today. She has worked very hard on putting together her ‘ideal week’. This means that she has really thought through what she needs to get done each week – personal and business – and has assigned times/dates for each task. Now, keep in mind we call this her ‘ideal’ week! Which means that in a perfect world things would happen exactly according to plan. And, of course, there is no perfection this side of Heaven.
But, what do you think her chances are of getting more of what she wants done with an ideal week plotted out as opposed to just winging it? Her chances are a lot better! Now her assignment is to stick to the ideal week as much as possible and keep track of how long things really take her to accomplish. Then we’ll adjust the ideal week appointments as necessary.
Do you take time each week to plan ahead? I can almost guarantee that if you don’t you’re going to end up every Friday at 5 pm wondering where the week went and why you didn’t accomplish what you wanted.
