Day 3 of my 30-day Commitment: Who is your Sheila?

My best friend growing up was Sheila. She came from a very large family and there was always something fun going on.  I absolutely loved going to her home not only because of the joy there but because that is where I felt safe. I don’t know what I would have done without Sheila.

Since high school we lost touch but last year connected again via Facebook. Say what you want about Facebook but it does have its good points!  One of the good points is sharing pictures.  I love getting reconnected with people like Sheila and enjoy seeing their pictures of their family and what they are doing now.

Sheila is a bright spot in my past.  Too often as I look back on my life I find it easy to focus on what was bad and that kind of thinking gets me nowhere.  What about you? When you look back do you focus on the bad and then get stuck there?  Let’s make a pact together.  When our thoughts go to the negative let’s replace them with our ‘Sheila’s’.  What or who is your ‘Sheila’?!

  1. Sheila DeBoer says:

Thanks for the kind words. They remind me that I could fill many journals with all the good memories and blessings I received from you and your family growing up. It has been a force in my life to remind me to give to others the blessings and opportunities that were so generously given to me.

Thank you, Sheila, and I can say the same things back to you!
