Have you said these words lately?

On Sunday my husband, Bruce, and daughter, Abigail, visited mom. She was having a day where she was feeling exhausted and wasn’t her usual bright shiny self. abby-mom-me

But, when she realized it we us, she said, “You are here again? I am so blessed. You always do extra.”

How often when someone sees you they see you, “I am so blessed.”?
How often when you see someone do you say, “I am so blessed.”?

What would happen in your life and work if you started using mom’s phrase?

I think amazing things would happen!

The picture on the left was taken right before we left and she would not let go of my hands. I didn’t want to let go, either. Can you see how peaceful she is?

That’s how we feel when we are around people who bless us.

Is it time to choose to be with people who bless you and you bless them?

My challenge: Tell two people today that you are so blessed when you are with them.

I’d like to bless you! If you are not a member of my Clear the Desk Movement, let’s get you signed up. Every day we have great posts and encouragement to help you not only clear the desk, but your fears, your mind, your clutter – whatever is holding you back.  You can join here.

All is well

Have you ever wanted to do something that you knew would be great – but you were scared? But, you really wanted to do it?

easter-3That was Addilynn on Easter when we were visiting my mom. Uncle Sean challenged her to jump to him. Addilynn wasn’t so sure at first. But, she trusted Sean and jumped with a scream. Then, of course, she wanted to do it over and over again!

She trusted Uncle Sean and all was well.

Perhaps you trusted someone in the past and they let you down. Now, it’s hard to trust anyone. I so get that.

Thankfully, today is your fresh start.

1st: Trust yourself. If you say you’re going to take a walk – take a walk. If you say you’re going to eat healthier – eat healthier. If you say you’re going to organize the makeup drawer – do it.

But, if you are like 99.999% of the people in the world you don’t always do what you say you are going to do.

That’s where the fresh start comes in. Every day you can start over. The more you do what you say you are going to do – the more you can trust yourself.

2nd: Trust God. He will never let you down. Things may not be in your timing or how you thought it may happen – but you can trust Him. When you trust Him, no matter the outcome, all is well.

3rd: Trust me! I want to assist you in clearing out the gunk in your life – physically and emotionally – and have you feel all is well with yourself. One way I can help you is in my Clear the Desk Movement. If you are not a member, why not? Join here..

There are people and then there are PEOPLE

I met my friend, Kris, at Starbucks recently. I was outside when she pulled up and she parked in front of the store next to Starbucks. I remembered from previous visits that there were BIG signs saying only patrons of that store could park in those spots.

I walked over to Kris to tell her about this policy. We both looked at the huge sign in the window right in front of her car. We then looked at each and were both thinking the same thing – probably a good idea to move the car.

I noticed where she parked there were two men visiting and when she walked by they said starbucks-parking(2)something to her. I didn’t think anything of it.

After we got our drinks we were deep in conversation. All of a sudden, a man appeared by our table and put two Starbuck gift cards down.

We both were shocked and asked him, “Why?”
He was the owner of the adjacent store and was one of the men who talked to Kris as she walked by.

He was so appreciative he gave us gift cards! There are people and there are PEOPLE. Right?!

The adjacent store is a liquor store. I told Kris, “I don’t drink, but since he was so nice I may just start so I can purchase something!” No, I’m not going to but, wow, that was a surprise.

I believe that every day we get chances to be one of those PEOPLE. How often do we deliver? I’m not talking about purchasing gift cards. I’m talking about noticing nice actions and showing appreciation.

It’s hard to notice when your mind and schedule is full. And, for many, they are full to the brim.

I’ve been thinking about that a lot and I’ve been wanting to give back more to those on my list and those I meet when speaking, thus, the Clear the Desk Movement was born!

I’m sure you’ve heard the term ‘clear the decks.’ Do you know what it really means? Clear the decks means to prepare for a particular event or goal by dealing with anything beforehand that might hinder progress.

I found that fascinating.

What about your desk as opposed to a deck? Are you more ready to prepare for a goal by having a clear desk? What about a clear mind? A clear schedule? A clearness about who you want to hang around with and who you don’t?

My Clear the Desk Movement is all about being part of a community where we are ready to stop chasing squirrels and focus on what is important in our life and in our work.

Clear the Desk is a mindset philosophy that will not only organize your space and time, but get you clear on what matters most and go after that!

My movement is free to you! Yes, it is a gift.

All you have to do to join is go to the Clear the Deck Movement private Facebook group welcomeand ask to join. You may already be a member as I changed a previous group to the new Clear the Desk Movement.

When you become a member in this movement you will receive a free gift that will make you fearless!  Also,  I have a theme each day to help you move forward to clearing the desk, your mind, your schedule, your files, and clearing negative people out of your life.

To join go to this page and if you see a +Join Group button click on it and I will approve you as soon as possible. If you see a Joined button you are already a member. Read through the description and, if it seems like a fit to you, please stay a member. If not, simply unjoin the group.

It’s that simple. Especially if you want to be one of those PEOPLE and having such clarity in your life you see every moment when you can make someone else feel appreciated.

See you in the Movement!

Signs are everywhere

Look around you and what do you see? People’s faces buried in their phones. They seem oblivious to what is going on around them. I want to tell them if they would look up they would see signs of beauty everywhere.

It’s time for all of us to stop and see the signs that are all around us.

I was on a bike ride with my daughter-in-law the other day and she stopped when she saw a cardinal. She told me that a cardinal is a representative of a loved one who had passed and she thought of her dad.

cross-in-skyMy dad and I used to have a contest who would see the 1st robin in the spring. It was a joke, really, because I didn’t pay any attention to birds and he always saw his 1st robin months before I did! Now, when I see a robin, I think of my dad.

On Monday I went to the hospital to visit my precious aunt who was being taken care of by hospice staff. As I got out of my car I looked up and saw a cross in the sky. I knew that everything was going to be ok and Heaven was waiting for her.

We each give our own meaning to the signs we see. But, if we don’t get our face off the screen we are going to miss them.  Look around. What do you see?

Will I see you in St. Paul, MN on April 27 and 28?

I get by with a little bit of help from my friends

I get by with a little bit of help from my friends

I ran (ok, to be truthful, it was more of a jog/walk) my 1st 5K of 2017 on Saturday.

I had not run one block this year to prepare. I was hoping my working out at the gym each day would enough. It helped but it would have been a good idea to have had a few runs in first!

irishmen-5kThrough my Kosama gym I have met so many wonderful people. Much younger; but wonderful!

I started the race and while I was still running to the half-way point I saw them already on their way back!

But, guess what they did? They waited for me for a group photo.

I told you they were wonderful.

One of my steps in my keynote presentation “Now is Your Time: The Steps to be Fearless and Extraordinary” is to Surround Yourself with Awesomeness. Life gets pretty amazing when you make a point of doing that every day.

You don’t have to hang around with the negative Nellies. I am giving you permission to fire them from your life. You don’t need to tell them they are fired; you just make different choices of who to hang out with during the day.

Who are your Awesome people? Have you seen them or been in touch with them lately?

Today is the day!

~~Would you like to spend two days with me and 100 other awesome people. Check out my information about the before. conference below~~

Hang out with Awesomeness at the before. conference

This is a ‘grab your pen + notebook and get stuff done kinda conference’.

I will be speaking twice this year and, because you know me, you get $100 off of your registration fee! Use the code ‘elizabethguest‘ when you register at

See you there!

2 doors

When I walk down the hallway to my mom’s cottage in her nursing home I have 2 choices.

I can go right to the Pheasant Run cottage and see my Aunt Joy.

Or, I can go left to the Grandview Cottage and see my mom.

Both are great choices. I love both women very much.moms-doorway

But, I always go left

You might think, “Well, of course you’d go left. It’s your mom.”

If you are my friend on Facebook then you know what my mom is like. She is a role model on how to grow old with grace and faith. She gives the most remarkable wisdom which I share so others can be blessed, too. She is a very loving person to visit.

That’s not the only reason I go left. My mom is my priority. I see so many residents who are not their family’s priority and it is heartbreaking.

Every day we have choices. Usually, far more than 2 doors.

Do you know your priority?  Did you notice I didn’t say priorities?

In Greg McKeown’s book Essentialism, he shares that the word priority came into the English language in the 1400s. It meant the very first or prior thing. It was singular. It stayed singular for the next 500 yearsOnly in the 1900s did we pluralize the term and start talking about priorities. Illogically, we reasoned that by changing the word we could bend reality. Somehow, we would now be able to have multiple ‘first’ things. (Italics are quotes from his book on page 16.)

I found this to be fascinating.

Do you ever think about what your priority is? Having a priority doesn’t mean we don’t care about a lot of people and things we need to do. When we choose our priority, we live true to who we are. We aren’t allowing others to make the choice for us.
