We are almost halfway through 2017. How is it going for you?!

It may be time to take stock of your life and career. If things aren’t going so well – or everything stays the same and you find life lacking some luster –  is it time for a new way to look and do things?

I have started a new program and am seeing great results. The DESIRE Personal Empowerment System changes – well, it changes everything.

This is a personal 1:1 program with me for 90 days and only women who are truly ready for amazing results are accepted.

This is for you if you are ready to take stock of where you are, what makes your heart sing, and take the first steps to brighten up your life.

This is for you if you are ready to detox obstacles and energy suckers that are getting in your way and you want a fresh start.

This is for you if you want to set healthy new habits to support your fresh start and set achievable goals based on the vision you have for your life.

Is this you? E-mail me at Elizabeth@ElizabethHagen.com  or call me at 605-310-5764 and we will set up a time to find out.  If you are not where you want to be now is your time – it really is!

Some may call it a mess; I call it revealing my dreams

I’m organized. Plain and simple. There is neatness all around me.

Except, for right now, in my office workroom. It may look like a tornado has blown through but it’s actually creativity in action.

office-workroom-vision-board-in-progressI’ve always thought I was a proactive person but lately I realize I’ve been living reactively. Reacting to circumstances, people, and life. It’s not working.

No more. I’ve always been a goal setter but then the goals sit in a notebook or hidden somewhere in my computer.

Starting now I’m getting clear on my authentic life, letting go of what’s in the way – and then clearly connecting with my dreams while designing a vision that calls to me.

Enter the Vision Board. And, I’m having a blast designing mine even though the ‘mess’ is driving me crazy! But, that’s why they invented doors that shut.

I’ve done Vision Boards in the past and it is truly amazing when you get really clear on what you want and find images that represent those feelings what can happen.

But, just like hiding my goals in notebooks or the computer it doesn’t do any good unless our dreams our forefront every day.

On December 2, I’m going to be giving my 1st ever Create Your Life Vision Board Workshop in Sioux Falls. I can’t wait!

I made a Vision Board to represent the type of gals I want to attend. She can be of any age vision-board-attendeesbut she comes in with a smile on her face and ready to take the time to get clear on what she wants. This workshop is all about her and we will celebrate where she is and where she wants to be and then – confidence blossoms.

The gals will then place their Vision Board in their office or home and be reminded daily of their dreams and the action steps to make them happen.

A Vision Board or any other method of tracking goals is nothing without an action plan.

You may say to yourself that January is really the best time to do this work. Sorry, but no. The time is now. Why do you feel you must wait 2 months?

What is so magical about January?

If you are in the Sioux Falls area you need to come to my workshop! If you are interested just reply with ‘tell me more’.

If you are not in this area I’m working on a way to give this workshop virtually. I want to be able to see you all the virtual attendees and they see me so not sure how to make this happen.

But, I will figure it out!
If your life, work, relationships, etc. are not where you want them to be what are you going to do about it?

Maybe it’s time for you to get clear on what you want, let your creativity blossom, make a visual reminder of your dreams, and then act. If not now, when?

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. Proverbs 29:18 The Message Bible

You are fabulous

Why is it (and maybe it’s just true for me but I’m betting it’s true for others) easier to repeat negative things people say about us then good things? I have no trouble telling my husband if I get an e-mail that tells me what I’m doing wrong, but I gloss over positive comments that I get.

Recently I got back from a speaking engagement and have been getting the most wonderful e-mails from the group. One person said “I’ve got to say your workshop was by far one of the most informative, entertaining, and relevant conferences I’ve attended in many years.” Wow! I beamed for a long time! I wanted to share her comment with others but them almost stopped. You see, what if you think I’m bragging by telling you this? That’s when I realized that it’s must easier to pass on negative comments than positive ones.

Why is that? For me it goes way back to childhood. I was told “don’t let that go to your head” or “don’t think too much of yourself”. I think that we should let things go to our head and we should think big of our self. If we don’t, who is?

addi-bunnyI love my granddaughter’s confidence. I am always telling her how amazing she is and she smiles confidently!

Great self-esteem and true confidence comes from within and then we can let that shine on others. I’m not talking about being obnoxious and me, me, me. I’m saying it is a good thing to think that we are awesome and to treasure when other people realize the same thing.

Quick, write down 5 fabulous things about yourself. What was your first reaction to that request? Set those thoughts aside and do it anyway. Hopefully you’ll keep going and write 100 awesome things! You are an amazing person.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

A quote by Marianne Williamson from A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles

It’s time to shine your light!

Want to take action now?! Walk into your closet feeling really, really fabulous. As you look around you’re going to see things that a fabulous person would not wear. Give these items away and feel free!

Run the mile you are in

I am finally back at run-the-mile-you-are-inthe gym. With being sick, travel, and mom’s accident it’s been way too long.

On my first day back I noticed something that has been there for a while but I never saw it.

On the Goal Wall is the phrase ‘run the mile you are in’.

I stopped. Run the mile you are in.

Immediately I thought of all the times I’ve tried to be like someone else. Tried to market my business like they did. Tried to parent like they did. Tried to give presentations like they did.

And, you know what? It never worked. Only when I am running my own mile am I congruent in every way.

I posted this on my Facebook page and a friend of mine commented that when she read it she started thinking about how many times she rehashes her own mile. Or what she did wrong or worrying about tomorrow’s mile.

Good points!

How about if we all get clear on what our mile is and then run like we’ve never run before. And, don’t look back!

What gives you confidence?

As of today it had been 27 days since I had been to my Kosama gym. I am used to going every day! All of September I fought a really nasty cough and had little to no energy.

Everyone told me to stay away from working out as it would just prolong my illness.

Total bummer.

kosama-toolsI was thinking about how I have not felt like myself and my confidence was suffering.

Then I remembered a conversation I had a few years ago with another Kosama member.

We both work out every day in the 6:10 am class and we were saying how nice it is to get the workout done in the morning instead of having the guilt all day of “I should have exercised”. I then asked her if she felt better about herself after working out. Her answer was an emphatic “Yes”.

I feel the same way. I like myself better when I do what I say I’m going to do. I feel confident as I start my work day. I feel stronger when I coach my clients. My brain is more creative as I prepare for a presentation.

I plan on starting back at Kosama tomorrow. Will it be pretty? No! I will struggle but I know I’ll gain back my strength again. It will just take time.

There are many tools that go into confidence building. They may be physical tools like I use at Kosama to take care of myself. You may have other ways you create movement in your life.

There are internal tools like being grateful every day, continual learning, doing your best, etc.

What gives you confidence? One of the big ways to build confidence is by taking care of yourself.

Did that statement cause you to stop for a minute? Are you thinking “I have no time for myself?” If so, I want to give you a big hug first, but then look you straight in the eye and tell you that you must take time for yourself so you can do everything else – and in a much better frame of mind!

If you feel guilt when you think of taking care of yourself let’s stop this right now! Join me for my next teleclass “How to Beat the Guilt of Taking Care of Yourself First.

Any guilt you feel about taking time for yourself is silly!

So many people depend on us and if we are not at our best we can’t be the best for others.  2-pink-phone(2)

It’s only 4%

only-4-percentThe owners of my Kosama gym write the best inspiration on the blackboard in the entry way.

This week it is ‘a one-hour workout is 4% of your day’.

Think about that. Only 4%.

Certainly puts a one-hour workout in perspective!

One hour spent goal setting and journaling is only 4% of your day.

One hour spent planning your menu and grocery list is only 4% of your day.

One hour spent on organizing your kitchen junk drawer or your desk is only 4% of your day.

One hour spent in outbound marketing calls is only 4% of your day.

One hour spent on segmenting your database into groups so you can easily follow up with prospects is only 4% of your day.

One hour spent fine tuning a presentation is only 4% of your day.

What could you spend 4% of your day on that would make a difference in your work or life?

It’s only 4%!

Then life took first place

I am in St. Paul, MN right now on a 4-day business trip and I get to speak 3 times. Awesome!

But life took first place before I got here.

I had been preparing for my presentations weeks in advance but I knew I’d have plenty of time in the days leading up to my trip so I wasn’t too worried about getting it all done.

Then life took first place.

We got the call wmom-new-roome had been waiting for so my mom could get back to her home town. She has been in a wonderful nursing home 10 miles from her home but we both wanted to get her back home.

The call came last Thursday that a room had opened up and last weekend was spent packing up mom and getting her to her new home.

At age 92 this is no small thing emotionally or physically. As excited as mom was we needed time with her to let it all sink in.

On my end I found it amazing how one tiny lady can collect so much stuff in a small area! This picture shows mom’s new room and I am about ready to get it organized.

My preparation for my business trip was put on the back burner. But you know what? It all got done, I’m here in St. Paul ready to go, and I loved every minute helping mom with her new adventure.

Life trumps business every time. Spend some time with your loved ones this week!
