Maybe it’s time to hop over to your favorite makeup counter for a new look.

It’s amazing what they can do with just a few new products that give a new ‘glow’ to our face and a new outlook on life.

Or, do it yourself by going to the makeup section and choose products for a new look. This may mean you need to get out of your comfort zone a bit but that’s ok!

Self-Care Sanity: Idea #28 – The Gift of Pictures

28-screenshot of picturesWith the ease of smart phones we can take a lot of pictures we never really take time to look at and enjoy.

Now they are stored in our camera or hopefully uploaded to our computer.

Back in the old days when we actually had a camera we would drop off the film to get developed and we would at least look through them before stuffing into a box for ‘someday’!

I want you to go into your phone or computer and take some time to enjoy the memories and emotions these pictures bring to you.

Some days call for this – perhaps a blizzard day, perhaps a Saturday after a really tough week, or perhaps ‘just because’.

Dig through your stacks of DVD’s and pick 3-4 movies that you loved in the past. Curl up with some snacks, a warm blanket, and prepare to chill!

25-learn-something-newSchool was not all that fun for me. I did all right but was thrilled when I graduated from college and thought my learning was done.

I was wrong. Maybe ‘school’ was done but my learning certainly wasn’t.

Now we get to learn what we WANT to learn and how fun is that?!

Never ever stop learning.

I’m going to try and talk Bruce into going to a dance class with me!

What do you want to know more about? How to use Excel? How to knit? Ways to keep your e-mail inbox to a controllable level?

Whatever it is look for ways to learn every day. This makes life even more amazing!

Self-Care Sanity: Idea #23 – The Gift of Gratitude

23-gratitudeHave you thought recently about how truly blessed you are?

Too often we focus on the negative. Where does that get you?

I want you to list 10 things/people/experiences you are grateful for today. Yes, they can be your spouse, children, your business, your home, etc. But then dig deeper. Think about things you take for granted and for which you really should be expressing gratitude. Maybe I should increase the amount to 25 gratitudes!

For example when was the last time you expressed gratitude for the internet? When was the last time you were grateful for your comfortable bed? What about your car?

This is a self-care sanity idea that you will want to make a daily habit. Every night for the last 7+ years I end my day with writing down my gratitudes. Because it’s such a part of my life when I wake up my first thoughts are ones of gratitude.
