My theme in 2009 for my business is Incredible Impact. My goal is to reach as many women as possible with the message that ‘right now’ is their time.
I’ve recently developed an inspirational keynote called It’s Your Time: 7 Action Steps to be Fearless, Successful, and Extraordinary and I can’t wait to present it all over the country and make an impact in thousands of lives. I also want to make an impact with you in my newsletters. So, each newsletter this year will focus on ways in which we can impact ourselves and others.
Have you thought of how your clutter is impacting you? If not, you should! Clutter impacts:
- Your productivity
- Your relationships
- Your self-esteem
The average person spends an hour a day just looking for stuff – yes, an hour a day! That adds up to 6 weeks worth of work a year going down the drain. What could you do with 6 weeks of time?
Imagine the time and stress you would save if you could find things immediately and get things done when they’re due. Wouldn’t that be great and wouldn’t your productivity increase? I know that it would.
I speak from personal experience when I say that clutter hurts relationships. When you’re upset at how your home is looking and how the paper piles are overtaking your office you are not a happy camper and when you’re not feeling good about yourself it is really easy to take it out on others.
This is why back in 1985 I started my quest to get organized and maintain an organized lifestyle. We had 4 children under the age of 5 and the chaos, clutter, and stress were affecting how I felt about myself and how I was treating those I loved. I made a decision to make changes in my life by getting organized and taking back control and my life and my family’s life changed dramatically. That was 25 years ago and I am so glad I took action.
Organize = Confidence. End of story.
When you start to get organized and slowly but surely take back control of your home and office your confidence will start to increase and you’re going to feel really, really good about yourself. I see and hear about it all the time with not only my 1:1 clients but from my audience members. They start using the simple tools and systems that I teach and within just a short amount of time they feel great! Organization works!
You don’t have to start with your entire office or your whole home. Just set aside 30 minutes, take one drawer, and take action. Don’t know how to start? Get my one-of-a-kind book and CD set Organize with Confidence and you’ll have all you need to start!
