A thankful thought a day…

With Thanksgiving this Thursday, Nov. 28 it’s easy to be reminded to acknowledge all we have to give thanks.  But, what about the rest of the year?

As a business owner there are days that are great and days not so great.  Easy to be thankful on the great days.

I’ve been in business now for almost 14 years and one of the biggest things I’ve learned is to be thankful every single day – personally and professionally.  Not just the month of November and/or the week of Thanksgiving.

I’ve found when I am expressing thanks it is impossible to whine.  Try it!  Try complaining and giving thanks at the same time.  Your thankful thought will win.

Are you open to taking action?  Purchase or find in your office a journal – a nice one!  Keep it open on your desk and every day write down what you are thankful for in your business and your life.  Other ideas:  If you are a paper-based calendar person write it in your planner every day.  If you use an computer or online-based calendar person have a recurring appointment every day and write it in the notes for the appointment.

Today I’m thankful professionally for an office day and personally for am amazing warm fireplace!  What are you thankful for?

Wonderful post. I am going to add a note of thanks daily to my paper planner–okay, I am still old fashioned.
Today I am grateful for Heather, my wonderful office manager. She keeps me, my office and my staff “centered”. This then helps me remain balanced on the home front as well. Happy Thanksgiving, Heather!
