365 Days of Gratitude – Day 365: A year in my life

I have conflicting feelings today.  On the one hand I feel fantastic that I made a commitment 365 days ago to post what I am grateful for every day with a picture for one year. And, I did it!  On the other hand I feel like I’m leaving a good friend.

It has been wonderful each day to think back and write about what  I am grateful.  Were there some days that I was tired and didn’t feel like it? Yes.  But I did it anyway.  Looking back I can say that this was one of the best years personally and in my business.  Isn’t that interesting?

I thought it would be fun for my last post to pick out some of my favorite pictures from the past year.  I hope you enjoy the ‘picture’ walk through memory lane and I would love it if you would post below which of the posts this past year were your favorites.

I am so grateful for this opportunity to share a year of my life with you and I want to thank so many of you who posted and shared your life with me.

Love and confidence,

My fav of those here – you and newborn baby!!!
Although you with flowers and I’m guessing your hubby is great too!!

  2. Karol Horken says:

Love your grandbaby posts!! Thank you so much for a year of encouragement!!

  3. Too many favorites to pick just one – new grandbaby, great family, understanding husband who participated in the pictures, sharing of your life – they were all great, Elizabeth! Thank you for pointing out how sometimes it’s just the little things in life that we are grateful for – we are truly blessed and sometimes we just need to open our eyes and look around! Wonderful job, Elizabeth!

  4. I will miss these daily posts. I always knew when I opened my email every day that there would be at least ONE thing in there that would make me smile, or think, or inspire me. AND that I wouldn’t have to do anything in return except enjoy!!

I like the one with your dad and all of the mailing boxes. It is so good to acknowledge that sometimes we need the help of those who love us.

  6. Although I subscribed only relatively recently (October), I have truly enjoyed your posts. I will miss them! I always think about what I’m grateful for and I enjoy noticing the smaller things, but after reading this blog, I find myself noticing more things to take note of. I’d have to say my favorite post is the one about my thank you note that I sent. But I really enjoy reading about your time with your family, especially your daughters. And the super cute baby too : ) I also really enjoy reading about your great customer service experiences since I used to work in retail and loved brightening someone’s day, or having them brighten mine.

Oh, I will miss these! Thank you so much for sharing a part of your days with us and reminding us with each one, what is really important in life.
They are all wonderful. For some reason, the tiny socks always stick in my head. And if I remember correctly, I think it was in part because that photo came a day after a photo of Micah’s friends’ shoes in your entry way and the parallel caught my attention. They grow up so fast…
I love the one of your dad too. It reminds me of the way my dad helps me when I need him in my business ~ it’s so special.
    Thanks again!!!!

Thank you for sharing with us Elizabeth. I loved every minute also but especially like the posts about your parents and your family. You are amazing. Never missed a day, even the days you were sick!

  9. Linda says:

I too will miss your “thankful” posts. It was great to share your family and business events this past year. My favorites are not shown above. It’s when you had sewer/plumbing challenges, your yard all tore up and no water! And yet you found good and had pictures of the men literally”working in the trenches”. The other was your wonderful husband with the Christmas tree he had decorated for you when you were at the hospital with your dad. You do have a beautiful family and have helped me be more aware of my gifts from God.

  10. Elizabeth says:

Those are all such great ones, ladies!

  11. Beverly says:

I will definitely miss your gratitude posts. I agree 100% with Lisa Griffith!! Such a treat to have something to read and enjoy every day that was uplifting and didn’t require any answer on my part.
I loved all the family photos from the “baby”, your children when they were small, your children as they are now, your husband and your parents and YOU!!! I appreciate that you could share with us. I think we all feel like we got to know you and admire you. Your family seems very special.
How about a “weekly” post?? I know I would enjoy that! Your attitude is so positive and contagious. It is a wonderful reminder to all of us. Thank you!!

  12. I will miss all your posts.I really looked forward to them and your pictures. Thanks for being so faithful on your gratitude posts!!It was encouraging!!

  13. Elizabeth says:

Thanks, Beverly and Deb! Let me think on the ‘weekly’ idea!

  14. Nancy says:

I will miss your posts…please consider maybe a weekly post for 2010. I think each of your posts was unique. You made me realize how much we all are alike in so many ways…the wonderful times as well as the trials we each have in our daily lives and that regardless of what the day was like…there was always something to be grateful for.
Thanks to you, I started my own gratitude journal on my birthday in December. I just hope I can keep it up for 365 days like you did. I thank you for sharing your business and personal life with us all. God bless…

  15. I am also a bit sad but I want to commend you for sticking with it and being so faithful.

My favourites were all the ones about your other life 🙂 because I always like connecting with people in terms of family, friends, etc 🙂

  16. PS and of course I loved seeing pics of Micah’s GORGEOUS hair 🙂

I will miss opening my email and seeing that you have posted once again something inspirational and genuine. You are truly a leader in your field. I have enjoyed reading about what you do in your work life and how you have inspired those you work with. I look up to you as person that I would like to model my life after. I am organized most of the time and even get teased about it as my two daughters do too. But I want to thank you for being YOU. You are a super lady and I look forward to watching you move forward in your life as I know you will be one of those ladies that will go far. Thank you for being my inspiration!

  18. Kylie says:

Congratulations Elizabeth! What an accomplishment. You have such a beautiful family and I loved reading about them and the little things that you are so grateful for. I will miss your daily posts!

  19. Elizabeth says:

I love reading these posts, ladies, thank you so much. You’re making me feel very special and grateful!

We’re traveling so I just read your final post tonight. First, Congratulations and a big round of applause for completing what you set out to do – 365 posts in 365 days – while you were sick / traveling / had plumbing problems / family illnesses / family celebrations. That was an ENORMOUS accomplishment. I’ve loved getting to know you and your family through these posts. Knowing what a challenge it must have been to do this each and every day is inspiring, and I, myself, am definitely more consciously grateful as a result of you having done this.

  21. Thank you, Jan! I appreciate your thoughts.
