365 Days of Gratitude – Day 299: Open on Sunday

When I grew up in Orange City, IA there was nothing open on Sunday…nothing.  Things have changed a bit over the years but there still aren’t very many restaurants open.  Tonight Bruce and I wanted to drive to Orange City to take my parents out for supper but weren’t too excited about the choices of where to eat.  My dad called this afternoon and suggested meeting at Pizza Hut in Sioux Center which wasn’t too far for them to drive.  Perfect!  I am so grateful for those who work on Sunday so we can go out to eat!

What are you grateful for today?

Ahhhh, Pizza Hut! I was a Pizza Hut waitress while I was in college. It was a great place to work ~ I had a wonderful boss, Ruth, who would plug me into the schedule when I would come home on the weekends or holidays even with short notice.
Looks like you had a fun evening! Your dad looks great.

  2. It’s good you have nice memories of working at PH! Yes, he does look good.

Love places open any time we want to go out to eat!
Also really appreciate the fact that Chik-fil-a is closed on Sundays so people can be with the families.
Kathleen – really love places like that that support all young-folks when they are available to work!!
