Last year at this time I spent 3 weeks in Denver taking care of our daughter, Emily, who had emergency surgeries and spent 3 weeks in the hospital. It was a horrific time. We are so glad it it now a year later.
But, when I would see the mountains a sense of peace would come over me. I would look at the mountains and be reminded of the greatness of God.
I sent this picture to our son, Micah, who would move to Colorado in a second if he could. He loves it here. When he saw the picture he texted me “That’s why I love Denver. If you’re ever feeling down, look west!”
What is your west? When hard times come where do you turn?
My west is my faith and my family. I’m finding with what we are going through with Emily my faith and my family are all that matters.
Everyone needs their own west. Take some time today to identify where you will set your sights when times get tough.
What are you waiting for?!
Psalm 121:1-2 THe Message
I look to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains. He won’t let you stumble, your Guardian God won’t fall asleep. Not on your life!
I would love to be able to see the mountains every day but where I live that is not the case. While they are gorgeous and remind me of God’s grandeur I know that my strength comes from Him. He will never leave me or you.
